Toddlers - 18 months to 2.5 years

The Toddler Program is geared towards your toddler from 18 months through 2.5 years of age. We, at The Learning Ladder Child Care Center, believe in a hands-on approach to learning, through experimentation and exploration. The toddler environment provides a theme based space, learning centers, and a variety of learning materials. Children are taught to be independent and self reliant.  

Our toddler classroom provides many opportunities for your child's development. A daily routine is introduced as the children are eased into a single nap time on a cot, learning to use a cup, eating with utensils and practicing table manners. The classroom is busy and full of energy. We truly ease enjoy our toddlers and we love getting to know them and watching them grow.

Our routine includes short circle times, lots of dancing to the rhythms of music, reciting finger plays and rhymes, sensory activities, imaginative play, puzzles, drawing with crayons and reading lots of books. The children will go outside, weather permitting, to enjoy nature and recreational activities. 

Communication

Good communication is very important. A daily sheet will keep you updated about your child's daily activities, health, appetite, diapering etc. and it will let you know when your child's supplies are running low.

We encourage parents to let us know about their child's status upon arrival - how well did they sleep last night? Are they eating well? What is their mood? All this information is important to us. Please feel free to ask us any questions or share concerns.
